According to news reports, legendary singer [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Aretha Franklin[/lastfm] has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Although reports have indicated that the family of Franklin is “very concerned”, she is reportedly doing “okay.”City officials in Detroit held a prayer vigil for the soul singer recently as Franklin underwent surgery.

The surgery is being called a “successful procedure.”

Franklin has canceled all concerts through May 2011 due to “medical reasons.”

Friends and family of the singer are asking for continued support and prayers from the public.
