Jack LaLanne, Fitness Guru Dies
It was all about a healthy life and he had the years to prove it. Fitness guru Jack LaLanne passed away at the age of 96 years old. LaLanne combined healthy heating with exercise to encourage weight loss, healthy living and well-being. LaLanne died of respiratory failure due to pneumonia Sunday afternoon at his home in Morro Bay on California’s central coast.
LaLanne exercised every day of his life up till the end of it, according to reports.
He also combined healthy eating as apart of his healthy habits.
He later became known for juicing as well as pumping iron as techniques that promoted wellness.
Elaine LaLanne, wife of Jack said that she has lost a true inspiration to her and so many others: “I have not only lost my husband and a great American icon, but the best friend and most loving partner anyone could ever hope for,” Mrs. LaLanne said in a written statement; they were married for over 50 years.
With the healthy image he maintained, he joked back in 2006 that death would not “become of him”: “I can’t afford to die. It would wreck my image.”
LaLanne will be known for his dedication to health, wellness and nutrition:”The only way you can hurt the body is not use it,” LaLanne said. “Inactivity is the killer and, remember, it’s never too late.”
