Former “American Idol” winner [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Ruben Studdard[/lastfm] has filed for divorce from his wife. Studdard won the singing competition in its second season.

Surata Zuri McCants and Studdard were married for three years. The couple reportedly met in Atlanta in October 2006.

Studdard reportedly cited “irreconcilable differences” on his divorce filing. Studdard and McCants wed in June 2008 in his hometown of Birmingham, AL. They reportedly met each other while Studdard was doing a signing and appearance at a Wal-Mart Store.

They have no children in their previous union.
