The 2011 Soul Train Awards in Atlanta were on hand to celebrate “peace, love and soul”… and the best and brightest in music and entertainment! Host Cedric the Entertainer opened the show at the historic Fox Theater with a comical skit and music’s brightest in hip hop, R&B and music were on hand to be honored!
Live performances came from the likes of: [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Common[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Marsha Ambrosius[/lastfm], Lloyd, Miguel Cee Lo Green, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Melanie Fiona[/lastfm] , [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Anthony Hamilton[/lastfm] and[lastfm link_type="artist_info"] Robin Thicke[/lastfm] .
[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Gladys Knight[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Earth, Wind & Fire[/lastfm] for their contributions to music.
Green and Scott were big winners at the ceremony.
Rapper Heavy D. of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Heavy D & The Boyz[/lastfm] was honored; he died earlier this month.
