Up and coming R&B star Solange is building up anticipation for her as-yet-untitled third album with news that “There’s a lot of songs about sex” – as reported on Billboard.
Being the younger sister of superstar Beyoncé will be doing her reputation no harm at all and she’ll be hoping her next release will propel her to new heights.
Last.fm Trends looks at her scrobble history so far.
Solange will be buoyed by the fact that she has enlisted the help of Pharrell Williams and Vincent Vendetta of Midnight Juggernauts on the album, where she’ll look to substantially improve her current scrobble count of 1,873,130.
Her past releases include her debut album way back in 2003, entitled Solo Star. While that album saw just 29,264 scrobbles, her 2008 sophomore album Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams has been scrobbled almost 600,000 times – a marked improvement. Every scrobble represents a track played by a Last.fm listener, indicating a huge preference for her second album among her fans.
Her scrobbles over the past year have fluctuated a fair bit, peaking with approximately 5,500 weekly scrobbles in May 2011 after performing on childrens TV show Yo Gabba Gabba!
