When shopping at boutiques, women want to enter showcases for current industry trends. They want retro. They want a style all their own. See how simple? At these four Charlotte boutiques, they answer the proverbial question by filling their shelves with it, and you might be able to find your Mom or a loved one the perfect Mother’s Day gift!

Sloan Boutique was opened in May 2000 at the Shops at Twin Oaks by sisters who ventured to help change the local fashion scene. Along the way, Sloan Boutique has “created an even more distinct fashion statement in the region,” according to its Web site. Ten years ago, the Sloan sisters started with clothing and now have a full arsenal of handbags, jewelry and shoes. Hours: Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sweet Repeats offers new and gently worn mid-to-high-end clothing, shoes and accessories to its Dilworth clientele. The upscale consignment boutique, which was opened in 1996 by sisters, prides itself on a long designer reach from Armani to Max Mara to Yoana Baraschi. Hours: Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
