Earlier this year Brandy and Monica thrilled fans with the long-awaited duet “It All Belongs To Me” and possible tour. But like their previous collaboration, 1998′s chart-topping “The Boy Is Mine,” the connection may be short-lived.
In a recent interview Brandy said she’s considering tour plans that may not include Monica.
“We haven’t really talked about it since we stopped promoting ‘It All Belongs to Me,’” she told Bark+Bite. “I just honestly think Monica and I are in different places in our music. And my vibe is a little bit different this time around so I don’t know. I kind of wanna do my own thing.”
Since their duel single hit, the two have been inseparable. They both shared the May issue of Ebony magazine. In March, the two teamed up for an intimate conversation and emotional show in Atlanta that moved Brandy to tears.
While Brandy said she feels a need to try something on her own, she acknowledges that there is a market for a show with Brandy and Monica on the bill.
“I definitely feel like the fans would want a tour from us, but I don’t know, I just feel like I’m being pulled in a different direction,” she said. “I’m definitely still open to it, but right now I’m looking in a different way right now for me.”
