Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj will have some onstage company at the upcoming BET Awards. R&B heavyweight Usher will be among the artists to hit the stage for the live July 1st telecast.
Usher released his seventh studio album, Looking 4 Myself today (June 12) and he’s been on a tear in the weeks leading up to it. Aside from his BET performance announcement, he recently explained his contribution to the choreography of the popular video game franchise Dance Central 3.
As for Usher’s youthful heir apparent Brown, the electric Virginia native just dropped the dreamy clip “Don’t Wake Me Up” as the first video for his upcoming album Fortune.
Other notable performers set to hit the BET Awards stage are rising rappers 2 Chainz and Big Sean, who can both be heard on Kanye West‘s all-star bass-heavy track “Mercy.” Avengers star Samuel L. Jackson will be hosting the BET Awards.—Keith Murphy, CBS Local
