The summer concert season of 2012 has been very enjoyable if your a fan of old school music. This Saturday is no different in Charlotte as the Summer Music Festival takes place. Some of the best talents of the past will grace the stage and bring back some great memories.
Each day leading up to the show we’ll feature one of the performers with artist facts and some of their biggest hits. Today we feature Patti LaBelle. She is a Grammy Award winner from Philadelphia who has been in the music business for over 50 years. She sang lead for the group LaBelle for sixteen years with the classic ‘Lady Marmalade’ being their biggest hit.
Patti LaBelle began her solo career in 1977 and has had numerous hits including, ‘Own My Own, ‘New Attitude’, ‘If Only You Knew’ and ‘If You Asked Me To.’ She received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards in 2011.
