We are just days away from the long awaited Summer Music Festival here in Charlotte and we continue our look at the artists that will be performing. Everyday leading up to the event we highlight an act with a look back on their career and feature some of the hits that made them what they are today. This time around we feature The O’Jays.
The mighty O’Jays formed in 1958 in Canton, Ohio and had their first hit in 1963. They’ve sold millions of albums over the years and are behind massive hits including, ‘For the Love of Money’, ‘Love Train’, ‘I Love Music’ and ‘Back Stabbers.’
In 2005 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 2009 they were honored with BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
