Jewel’s Soul Therapy Asks: What Is Sexy?
When I saw this question on a friend’s facebook page my immediate thought was Idris Elba. Okay, if I must actually give this some thought…yep, still Idris Elba. If you’ve ever really looked at him this would not be a surprise to most…however, it really does surprise me. See, not long ago I would be at a lost to tell you of any man other than my husband that I thought was REALLY SEXY!!!
I mean I can agree that someone is a nice looking guy, but there was no one that I would take an elbow to the ribs in the movie theatre for…because I made an audible sound that lasted a little too long and was a little too loud. No disrespect to my wonderful, SEXY, intelligent husband of 12-years…the truth of the matter is that I would not trade one single night of fully clothed, checkers and cuddling with him for an entire month of hot, steamy naked twister on the beach of my dreams with Mr. Elba.
Why? Well, it really comes down to my definition of what is sexy. See I believe that sexy is like art…different for everyone that lays eyes on it. It’s a smell, a look in the eye, the way you move your hands when you talk about something you’re passionate about. It’s what you do when no one is watching. What you say about someone that’s done you wrong. Its maturity…that is so sexy to me. A man who can admit to being a work in progress…knows that he is fallible.
Let me not forget about the sexiness of my sisters. Yes, I am woman enough to be able to admit that I think women are SEXY. How else do you learn to be sexy if not from other women? See I always ask questions about what he finds sexy and I listen without passing judgment or getting jealous. Besides, I am very aware of my sexy.
My eyes are the danger zone to many. A friend once said that I had “cookie magic”. If there were a thing called eye porn I could really make some money. Unfortunately, that is not an option for me and neither is striping. My husband laughs every time I try to do it. He says I’m “silly sexy”. I’ll take that. Humor is good for the soul. I bet Idris likes to laugh?!! Sorry, I digress…what is sexy to you? The more I think about it…sexy to me has very little to do with sex…it has everything to do with attitude and spirit.
Jewel’s Soul Therapy: “There is more to sex appeal than just measurements. I don’t need a bedroom to prove my womanliness. I can convey just as much sex appeal, picking apples off a tree or standing in the rain.” Audrey Hepburn
