The Riverbanks Zoo located in Columbia, South Carolina is great for a summer daycation! The Riverbanks Zoo offers a variety of events, activities, and attractions. Some of the attractions include a Botanical Garden, Riverbanks Garden, Conservationist Outpost, Ndoki Forest, Lemur Island, and the Birdhouses at Riverbanks.

The Zoo also offers educational camps for kids and teens, zoovie nights, and membership to access the zoo for free anytime.

General Admission for adults 13+is $11.75 and children 3-12 $9.25, there is group and field trip discounts also available.

Some people shy away from Zoo’s because the thought of it is not alluring, its smelly, hot, and not much to see. However, not the Riverbanks Zoo. It is very clean, organized, the staff is friendly and along with the animals is many different eateries to enjoy. Just like Carowinds the Zoo has dippin’ dots, soft serve ice cream, pretzels, icees, burgers, chicken tenders, and tons of other treats.
