When I started out on my workout adventure in September I remember telling my trainer Mario that I was no stranger to working out. It always starts off the same, I’m all excited, tired, and sore and quickly that turns into a really weird obsession. I love to workout. A great week was me in the gym four or five times a week with my trainer and some physical activity on the weekend. The problem is that it always ends the same…me injured.
Well, here we are in January and I’m out of the gym AGAIN!!! This time it wasn’t due to any fault of my trainer or me. I was in a car accident and as a result, by Doctor’s orders and this huge hematoma on my right knee…I can’t work out for at least another month. It’s already been a month.
So, what do you do when you can’t hit the gym for a regular cardio ‘til you drop workout…well, I’ve been trying to stick with the eating habits that I picked up working out with Mario. Drinking plenty of water (still not enough though), cutting out as much sugar and for me just eating!
I won’t lie…it’s been a challenge. To see my huge weight loss coming to an utter and complete stop, feeling my body turn on me, to want to work out while I have difficulty climbing the stairs or putting on my own socks. I refuse to get on the scale because I know that I’m still full of fluids from all the swelling.
The good news is that next week I start my physical therapy; I’m looking forward to becoming active again. I’ll keep you updated. Until then…be careful, safe and active.
