Real Housewives of Atlanta Recap: “Shady Phae Phae” VS. “Cray Cray” Kenya!
Kenya Moore put on quite a performance last night on the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Truly, there was never a dull moment while the beauty queen was on camera.
The show opened with Kenya working with her trainer in preparation for her Stallion Booty video.
Next Phaedra saunters on-screen in the most hideous looking lime green one piece I have ever seen. More reminiscent of the green Teletubbie than an exercise guru, Phaedra prepares to take pictures with Apollo for the cover of their Donkey Booty video.
The shots between Kenya working out are juxtaposed with Phaedra and Apollo posing for the camera. The footage focuses on the two women’s bodies; specifically their backsides and it’s easy to decide whether you’re a Stallion Booty hopeful or a Donkey Booty enthusiast.
Cynthia is interested in getting into pageants to bring some extra money to the Bailey Agency and seeks the assistance of a pageant planner. Cynthia’s friendship with Porsha continues to grow and she’s wiped the slate clean when it comes to Kenya, and is determined to give Ms. Detroit another chance.
As the war between team Kenya and team Phaedra continues. Porsha is all too eager to jump on Phaedra’s side —we all know she loves anyone who’s hating Kenya at the moment.
That’s why it’s puzzling as to why Porsha would agree to meet Kenya for lunch. Maybe she thought Kenya asked her out to apologize; that they would sing “Kumbayah” and braid each other’s weave.
The pleasantries last for a total of about five seconds while Kendra rambles on and on about her fallout with Phaedra, how she thinks that Porsha and Phaedra’s friendship has developed out of that falling out. Of course it has! They now finally have something in common —hating you!
Kenya calls Porsha a pawn in Phaedra’s master chess game of screwing people over. Porsha asks Kenya why she’s even worried about it.
Their modest “conversation” begins to escalate, as onlookers scowl at the now rowdy women. The two end up storming out of the restaurant; insults flying.
Porsha screams about Kenya’s “ashy feet”.
Kenya fires back closing out the segment cracking on Porsha’s sneakers and 1960s Diana Ross hair-do. “Ashy feet…They make lotion for that!”
NeNe, determined to be a serious actor meets with an acting coach in L.A. They discuss her character Rocky, on The New Normal. Looks like this may be NeNe’s last season on the RHOA. She’s moving on up!
Cynthia asks Porsha to help her plan the pageant. It is painfully obvious that Porsha is in over her head. The two ladies meet with Cynthia’s pageant planner to discuss the details of the event.
Kandi, Cynthia, Phaedra, and Porsha meet for dinner. They discuss Kenya. Phaedra makes further assertions about Kenya’s drinking and the possibility that she may be “cray cray”.
Porsha announces that she can sing and would like to sing at Cynthia’s beauty pageant. When asked for a sample of her lovely vocals she hesitates, but not before claiming that she sounds like a blend of Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, and Rihanna. I’m sorry, but what in the heck does that even sound like?
Cynthia, now Kenya’s friend, relays comments from the previous night to Kenya over golf, which in turn further fuels Ms. Moore’s aggression towards Phaedra.
Later, Kenya sits down with Lawrence and his bright red lipstick to blast the Donkey Butt Queen. The usual ramblings…UGH! Kenya give it a rest! First she’s obsessing over Walter, now she’s obsessing over Phaedra — girl get a hobby, something you can do by yourself.
NeNe is the special guest at a Shoe Dazzle Charity event. All of the Housewives are in attendance. Kenya is the last to arrive and boy does she make an entrance. The former Ms. USA sashays in wearing a large white hat and a replica of the hideous black bathing suit that Phaedra wore in Anguilla –exposed backside with donkey booty pads and all!
Finally Kenya and Phaedra go head to head. Kenya puts Phaedra on the spot regarding the rumors she’s been spreading about her. Phaedra fires back about Kenya stealing her idea, and NeNe looks on in delight.
The show ends with nothing being resolved and a former friendship further in the toilet than it was 60 minutes ago.
Next week Walter reunites with the guys, Kandi sings gospel, NeNe continues to take over L.A., and Porsha begins to crumble under the pressure of Cynthia’s demands! Whew!
Check out the Real Housewives of Atlanta on Sundays at 8:00 p.m. on Bravo!
