Charlotte’s Best Variety of Hits and ‘Ol School V101.9 continues our salute to some of the most influential artists of our time. February is Black History Month and today our honor goes to musical and worldwide superstar Usher Raymond IV. He was a million selling artist as a teen getting his big break after an appearance on the talent show ‘Star Search.’ After an impressive audition, Usher was signed to LaFace Records and a few years later teamed up with Jermaine Dupri for the 1997 multi-million selling album, “My Way.’ He would branch out and take up acting appearing in major motion pictures and television shows. Along the way Usher would pick up numerous awards and land his most successful album of his career with ‘Confessions’ in 2004.
