Moral Mondays made its latest stop in Charlotte, NC. Thousands of protesters turned out to voice their frustrations with state government and Raleigh known. There were lots of powerful speeches about our voting rights, teacher pay and healthcare. The demonstrators also sang a lot of marching songs, in addition to praying. The organizers of Moral Mondays said the world needs to know how the NC General Assembly has cut teacher pay, created a Poll Tax, banned Sunday voting and taken a $2500 tax credit from parents whose children do not vote at home, even if they are in college! It was a very educational and uplifting event and a good look for our community. The best part was seeing the diversity of our state represented in such a beautiful, peaceful and powerful way! If you weren’t at this one, make plans to put on your marching boots and gather your entire family to be at the next one!
